Property Listing

Definition updated April 2026

What is a property listing?

A property listing is a record published by a seller or agent describing a property available for sale or rent. It typically includes asking price, location, property type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, floor area, photos, a description, and contact details for the listing agent.

Property listing APIs provide programmatic access to a platform's active listings database, enabling developers to build search interfaces, price monitors, and market analysis tools without scraping the platform's website.

The lifecycle of a listing includes: active (on the market), under offer (sale agreed), and sold or let (transaction completed). APIs may return listings in any of these states depending on their data scope.
