Availability Data

Availability data describes which products, rooms, seats, or services are currently open for booking and at what price. In travel, availability is the core of any search - without knowing what is available and what it costs for specific dates, no booking can take place.

Availability data is highly dynamic and perishable. A hotel room available at 9am may be booked by 9:01am. Airline seat classes fill and reprice constantly. Applications displaying availability must query live APIs at or close to display time.

Travel APIs return availability as a combination of product identifiers, price, and booking conditions. For hotels: room type, rate plan, price per night, and cancellation policy. For flights: fare class, price, and rules like baggage allowance and flexibility for changes.
